Wangechi's heartfelt confession on the 10th anniversary of his fatal accident

She recently posted an article about her trip and said: “This weekend it's officially 10 years since my life completely changed, so I've been reflecting and internalizing the last two days. I don't want to give too much away, maybe one day I'll write a book 😌

One thing is for sure: the body always counts, so I'm glad I'm taking good care of it these days because it carries all the trauma, even if you don't think so. Ten years into my second life – hopefully I can make it ten more 🤍 And to @tionnalyssa, I still miss you as much as I did on day one. May your soul rest in peace forever until we meet again ♥️”

After her rescue, Wangechi was taken to the hospital, where she kept losing consciousness. She recalled giving her mother a thumbs up and being told to fight for her life as she was wheeled into the operating room.

Overwhelmed by her emotions, Wangechi thanks her mother for being a strong support to her during this difficult time.

“It's really crazy to me that I've been living my second life for ten years. Only my mother and I really understand what today means,” she said.
