Rescue operations underway for man who never emerged from Lake Pleasant

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – A search is underway in Lake Pleasant for a swimmer who is believed to have drowned.

The Maricopa County Sheriff said a man swimming near the 10-lane boat ramp Sunday afternoon went underwater and did not resurface.

According to MCSO, he was last seen about 20 to 25 feet from shore before going underwater.

According to MCSO, officers are working to locate the man.
