A group of bipartisan U.S. lawmakers on a task force investigating the assassination attempt on former President Trump has asked the U.S. Secret Service for a briefing on the latest assassination attempt on the former president on Sunday.

On Sunday, a man with an AK-47 was shot at by Secret Service agents after he raised his rifle from a bush between 300 and 500 yards from Trump, who was playing a round of golf at his club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The man fled and was later arrested. The suspect was identified as Ryan Routh.
