New York police arrest man weeks after house fire and “heinous” knife murder of family of four – Crime Online

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the family in Irondequoit, New York, who was found stabbed to death in his burned-down home.

Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano, 34, of the Dominican Republic, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree murder, WHAM reported.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, a 911 call was received by Irondequoit Police shortly before 5:30 a.m. on August 31. Police and firefighters from several counties responded to an early morning house fire and quickly brought the blaze under control.

After the fire was extinguished, authorities found several dead people in the building.

Fraime Ubaldo, 30, Marrangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were found with multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest, repeated with a sharp object, according to WHAM.

“It was a horrific scene,” said Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters.

“It appears this family was well-liked and active in their community, so of course my sincere condolences go out to their family, friends and neighbors who have had to go through this,” said Assistant District Attorney Perry Duckles.

Duckles believes authorities are still looking for another person, “another actor,” according to the New York Post.

The New York Post reported that Pimentel-Soriano entered the United States illegally by obtaining a fake New York ID in Puerto Rico. “With that ID, he was able to travel freely from Puerto Rico to the U.S. mainland,” the department said.

On September 6, the Dominican Republic National Police issued an arrest warrant for Pimentel-Soriano in connection with a 2019 murder in the Dominican Republic.

According to jail records, Pimentel-Soriano is being held without bail in the Monroe County Jail on a second-degree murder charge.
