Hezbollah fires over 50 rockets at northern Israel: Houthis attack central Israel

This morning, several rockets were fired from Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights. A drone launched from Lebanon exploded in the northern town of Metula, the Israeli military reported. Fragmentation interceptors targeted areas east of Tel Aviv.

After rocket fire from northern Gaza on the city of Ashkelon on the southern coast, the Israeli military ordered Palestinians in Beit Lahia to evacuate. The Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed, said that they were not prepared to support a post-war plan for Gaza without the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The Israeli military carried out several attacks on the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Health Ministry announced that at least 41,182 Palestinians have been killed in attacks on Gaza since October 7. At least 10 Palestinians were killed after an Israeli military attack on a house in the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza, according to the Wafa News Agency.

The Israeli Defense Force reported that it recently carried out an airstrike on a group of Hamas members in a command room in a former school in Gaza City. The exchange of blows between Israel and Hezbollah continued. The Israeli Defense Force reported that more than 50 rockets were fired from Lebanon toward northern Israel.

In response, the Israeli military bombed a Hezbollah position in southern Lebanon.

Houthis claimed responsibility for an attack on central Israel

The Yemeni militant group Houthis today claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack that hit central Israel for the first time.

They also threatened further attacks.
“This forced more than two million Zionists to flee to shelters for the first time in the enemy's history,” a Houthi military spokesman said in a statement.

Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of the Yemeni Houthis' media office, posted on X that the rocket fired from Yemen reached Israel after “20 (Israeli) rockets failed to intercept it,” and called the attack “just the beginning.” The Israeli military said it was investigating the outcome of the attempt to intercept the Yemeni rocket, according to Times of Israel.

The Houthis added that they would issue a more detailed statement on their plan to attack Israel later in the day. Yemeni militant Hezam al-Assad warned that “more surprises” were ahead. Earlier today, air raid sirens blared in Tel Aviv and across central Israel, and the military reported that surface-to-surface missiles were being fired from Yemen.

“According to the sirens that sounded recently in central Israel, a surface-to-surface missile was identified that entered central Israel from the east and landed in an open area. There were no reports of injuries,” the military said.

The Israeli military reported today that a salvo of around 40 rockets was fired from Lebanon at the Galilee, the Golan Heights and the border town of Metula. No injuries were reported in the attack. Some rockets were intercepted by air defenses, while others hit open areas and caused fires, the Israel Defense Forces said.

The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it bombarded an Israeli military base with dozens of Katyusha rockets in response to recent Israeli army airstrikes in Lebanon, including yesterday's drone attack on a motorcycle in the coastal village of Sarafand.

The Israeli military confirmed that it had carried out a drone strike overnight in southern Lebanon against a “terrorist operational cell,” according to the Times of Israel. Early in the morning, air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and throughout central Israel, and the military reported that surface-to-surface missiles had been fired from Yemen.

“According to the sirens that sounded recently in central Israel, a surface-to-surface missile was identified that entered central Israel from the east and landed in an open area. There were no reports of injuries,” the military said.

Five UN agency employees killed in Israeli attack

At least 26 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, including five UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) staff members in an attack on one of the agency's schools.

The attack on another UNRWA school came just days after six UNRWA staff were killed in another attack on a school in Nuseirat refugee camp on Wednesday, although attacks on schools and other civilian shelters are considered war crimes, according to Al-Jazeera.

Three people were killed in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the past 24 hours, and Israeli forces killed one Palestinian and wounded several others in the Jabalia refugee camp, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces bombed Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip overnight and violence continued in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces reportedly raided the city of Jenin with a bulldozer and arrested four Palestinians in their homes, while three others were arrested in another raid in Nablus. Israeli forces also carried out raids in several neighborhoods of Bethlehem, and clashes were reported in Tulkarem.
