Fatal accident involving MSP • Man dies when vacuum truck hits power lines • Sex on driveway angers homeowner

A driver died in a collision with a Michigan State Police trooper on I-75, a man was killed when a vacuum truck struck power lines in Macomb County, and a Farmington Hills family is furious after their Ring doorbell camera captured a sexual encounter in broad daylight: Here are the top stories from FOX 2's weekly recap.

1. Driver dies after collision with MSP officers on shoulder of I-75 in Lincoln Park A driver is dead after colliding with a Michigan State Police trooper who was pulling over a semi-truck on I-75 in Lincoln Park Friday morning. The motor carrier trooper pulled over the semi-truck on northbound I-75 around 8:40 a.m. The trooper was in his vehicle on the right shoulder when a Ford Explorer slammed into the back of the patrol car, forcing it into the back of the truck.

2. Due to PFAS contamination, deer are banned from eating in swamps in northern Michigan. Hunters are being reminded not to eat venison from deer near a northern Michigan wetland because of concerns about persistent chemical contaminants in the area. With hunting season approaching and archery season starting Oct. 1, both the health department and the wildlife agency are reminding people not to eat meat from animals in the area.

3. Aldi hires 13,000 holiday workers and increases minimum wage to $23 an hour Aldi is hiring thousands of employees for the upcoming Christmas season and for the Opening new stores in the USAwhile raising minimum wages to $18 and $23 an hour respectively. The no-frills grocery chain, known for its cost-saving measures such as self-packing groceries and lending shopping carts to customers for a quarter, announced that the company plans to hire more than 13,000 store and warehouse employees nationwide.

4. Man dies when vacuum truck hits power lines in Macomb County A vacuum truck in Macomb County struck power lines in the northern part of the county, sparking a fire that charred the cab of the truck. Authorities confirmed that one man was killed. FOX 2 has learned that the victim was a DTE Energy contractor. The Macomb County Sheriff said he was called to the fire on Romeo Plank at 32 Mile Road just after 1 p.m. Thursday. The driver, a 61-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

5. Sex on the driveway makes homeowner in Farmington Hills angry A sexual encounter in broad daylight was captured on a Farmington Hills family's Ring doorbell camera. The 13-year-old son was waiting for a package. When he heard the ringtone, he quickly realized this was not the package he was waiting for.

“I am angry that my child had to witness such debauchery,” said his mother, we will call her Samantha.

6. 2 dead, 3 injured in fatal accident on Michigan Avenue in Washtenaw County Two people were killed and three injured in an accident on Michigan Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. Both directions of Michigan Avenue were closed between Wiard Road and Ecorse Road.

7. Motorcyclist crashes into SUV at over 240 km/h on I-75 in Detroit A 21-year-old motorcyclist was traveling at more than 150 mph when he collided with an SUV on I-75 Wednesday night, police said. Michigan State Police said the Sterling Heights man collided with a Honda CRV on the northbound side of the highway near Davison in Detroit around 11:20 p.m., forcing the Honda into the median wall.

8. Horse racing fraud in Michigan causes headaches for some, grief for others The emergence of an alleged horseback riding scam just outside of southeast Michigan has caused headaches for some business owners and grief for other unsuspecting customers. One victim of the scam, Deborah, had originally believed she was fulfilling her daughters' dream by getting them horseback riding lessons.

9. Boat out of control: Inexperienced owner is thrown from the boat and swims to shore while the boat is traveling at full speed The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said an out-of-control boat was seen circling on an Oakland County lake before it eventually ran out of gas. Despite fears that this could be another drowning accident on an Oakland County lake, the Sheriff's Office said the boat owner and passenger all escaped safely, but the owner had no experience operating a boat.

An out-of-control boat on Elizabeth Lake sparked fears that another person had drowned, but the owner was found at home.

10. Children seriously injured in accident involving Mustang prototype at Auburn Hills test track; lawsuit filed A serious accident at a test track in Auburn Hills in which two children suffered catastrophic injuries is now the subject of a lawsuit against the test track's operator, Detroit-based nonprofit Ford, and the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident.
