Thane, Sept 15 (PTI) – A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 41-year-old bank employee in Navi Mumbai, police said on Sunday.

Based on a complaint from the woman, a case was registered at Panvel police station and the accused was arrested on Friday under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, an official said.

He allegedly filmed and photographed the encounter without her consent and later used the images to threaten the woman, the officer said.

The defendant allegedly sexually exploited the woman and threatened to pass the recordings on to her family and colleagues at the bank, he said.

When the woman started resisting his advances, the accused allegedly verbally abused and assaulted her, the officer said, adding that an investigation was underway. PTI COR ARU
