TV sensation! Stefan Raab with show comeback starting next week

Stefan Raab returns to television – with a new show starting September 18th.

Stefan Raab is back in the spotlight! The TV legend, who temporarily (and intermittently) retired in 2015, is surprising everyone with a new show that will be broadcast weekly from September 18th. The announcement was made following his third exhibition boxing match against ex-professional boxer Regina Halmich on Saturday evening (September 14th), which Raab lost (again). This return marks the beginning of a large-scale collaboration with “RTL” that is planned for five years and includes numerous new show formats.

Stefan Raab's new show is running here – 1 million euros in prize money every week

Under the title “You won't win the million here with Stefan Raab”, Raab presents a unique mix of late night comedy, entertainment and quiz competition. The show is hosted and produced by Raab himself and promises an exciting format in which he competes as quizmaster and presenter against his challenger to guard the million euro prize money. The weekly show is broadcast every Wednesday at 8:10 p.m. on “RTL+”.

The aim of “#DGHNDMBSR” (no joke, that's really how RTL abbreviates the new Raab show!) is to win the prize money of one million euros, while changing guest presenters, starting with Elton, accompany the game rounds. After three weeks there will be the first change in the guest presenter line-up. We can look forward to seeing which big names will follow Elton over the course of the show.

“We are writing television history” – “RTL” and Raab with long-term deal

The cooperation between Stefan Raab and “RTL” is planned for at least five years and includes the development and production of further show formats by Raab Entertainment. Inga Leschek, CCO of “RTL Deutschland” enthuses: “We are writing television history: the number 1 at the number 1!” The boxing match between Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich was just the beginning.” The aim of the whole thing: to put Raab (and “RTL”) back at the center of German television.

The new show is being produced by Raab Entertainment on behalf of “RTL”. Editorial responsibility lies with an experienced team led by Markus Küttner, head of entertainment at “RTL”. Stefan Raab's return to television is eagerly awaited and could have a lasting impact on entertainment in Germany. Raab had hosted individual shows over the course of his provisional retirement, for example “American Ice Football” in Mannheim in February. (yk)
