Mumbai: One man was killed and another injured when a speeding car rammed into a motorcycle in Mumbai's Dahisar district around 4 p.m. on September 13, media reports said.

According to Dahisar police, the victims, Karan Rajput (18) and his friend Aditya, were riding from Dahisar to Kandivali while another friend, Piyush Shukla, accompanied them on another motorcycle, India Today reported.

As they approached the Shailendra High School bridge, a speeding car collided with Karan's bike from behind, causing serious injuries to both Karan and Aditya.

Aditya was critically injured and lost consciousness, while Karan also suffered serious injuries.

The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Karan and Piyush managed to reach Seven Star Hospital in Kandivali in an autorickshaw, but Aditya succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The Dahisar police have registered a case under several sections of the Motor Vehicle Act and the Indian Penal Code and are actively searching for the hit-and-run driver.

This incident occurred just two weeks after a 24-year-old man was killed by a speeding SUV driven by a 17-year-old in Mumbai's Goregaon district.
