Patton Kizzire shot a 5-under-par 67 on Saturday to pull ahead of the field after three rounds at the Procore Championship in Napa, California.

Kizzire started the day at the top of the leaderboard, one stroke ahead of David Lipsky on the North Course at Silverado Resort, and extended his lead to four strokes with six birdies and one bogey.

After missing the cut in six consecutive events earlier this season, Kizzire heads into Sunday's final round of the tournament with a score of 18 under par and 198 strokes.

“I think what was wrong was not visible in the statistics,” Kizzire said of his two-month slump. “I think the consistency comes from having a solid mental base and allowing yourself to compete. That's what I've been working on and it's given me a huge boost.”

Kizzire had few problems on Saturday, his only slip-up being a bogey on the par-4 10th hole. However, he recovered well and scored three birdies on the final eight holes to finish his round.

“The greens were fantastic. The maintenance team did a fantastic job, the agronomy team did a fantastic job. They roll really well,” said Kizzire, who also made three birdies in a row on holes 3 through 5. “I see the greens well and I hit the target and it holds up. This is a golf course that I really enjoy playing and I'm looking forward to (Sunday).”

Lipsky finished the third round at 2 under par, held back by back-to-back bogeys on holes 11 and 12. He recorded four birdies, three of which came on the first seven holes.

“I really didn't play my best today,” Lipsky said. “You know, over the course of a week, there are days like that. I made some really nice putts at the end and hung in there and kept myself in the game, and that's all I can ask for when I'm not playing my best from tee to green.”

Four golfers are breathing down Lipsky's neck: Greyson Sigg (66 on Saturday), Patrick Fishburn (70) and the Canadians Mackenzie Hughes (66) and Corey Conners (66) are tied in third place, five strokes behind the leader.

Wilson Furr finished Saturday's best with an 8-under round of 64. He is tied for seventh with Sahith Theegala (69) and Ben Silverman of Canada (65), each member of that trio six strokes behind Kizzire.
