Jake Paul says he will “put Tyson to sleep” in November fight: “I'm the new King of the Block”

Boxer Jake Paul isn't mincing his words when it comes to his upcoming fight against legend Mike Tyson in November.

“I know Mike Tyson is going to be my toughest opponent yet,” Jake Paul said on Thursday on “The Claman Countdown.” “A lot of these guys have that reputation. But I'm the new king of the block.”

The sanctioned fight, Tyson's first in nearly two decades, will instead take place on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Paul remains confident that he will defeat the boxing stronghold in the highly anticipated duel.

“I just trust in my abilities. I've been training. I've been active,” he said. “He's an animal. The worst man on the planet. But they say that about all my opponents.”

“You're going to watch me knock out one of the greatest of all time whether you like it or not. He wants to fight me and so it's an honor for me to be standing there with a legend. But I have to do what I do best and that's put people to sleep.”

On Thursday, Paul also joined Betr co-founder Joey Levy on “The Claman Countdown” to talk about how their sports gaming app aims to “simplify” the betting experience for a wide range of enthusiasts.

Paul says the growing Betr platform, which he founded with Levy in 2022, is “a more fun, dynamic and easier way” for consumers to join the sports gaming “ecosystem.”

“We’re going to simplify this experience, make it easy for people to understand and create a simpler user interface,” Paul said.

“We’re really focused on this simple and more intuitive product experience that’s designed not just for existing sports bettors, but also for the casual fans who have never bet on sports before and can just pick up the product and interact with it intuitively,” Levy explained.

Betr offers fantasy and sports betting options for users with varying experience levels. Betr Picks, the fantasy portion of the platform, promises 100x cash payouts, injury and pick protection, and pre-made lineups.

At Betr Sportsbook, users will find a wide range of market offerings and comprehensive bet tracking for all types of fans, scoring points for “simplicity and excitement.”

According to Betr, the app currently has around seven million subscribers with an engagement rate of 10%. It is also the number one sports gaming brand on TikTok and has generated around three billion impressions since the app launched in August 2022.

Competing with other big names like FanDuel and Draft Kings, Betr's co-founders said their platform works “really well.”

According to Bank of America, 42% of wagers in the U.S. are on FanDuel, while 34% are on DraftKings. Despite the “duopoly” of FanDuel and DraftKings, Levy was optimistic that there is an overall market that operators can exploit.

“They have about 7 million users in total, but they're reaching over 100 million gambling-age sports fans and will reach almost twice that number when they mature,” he said. “So we think there's a really significant incremental TAM opportunity by targeting the market, even though some of those users may be less valuable. But nonetheless, there are a lot more of them. And they're really doing this primarily for entertainment reasons.”

When asked if fans will be able to use the platform to bet on the November clash, Paul said that “no bets can be placed through our platform simply because of the laws surrounding it.”

“But man, I'm going to knock out Mike Tyson. So if people want to bet, that's the safest bet they should make.”
