Long Island man poses as social worker to sexually abuse disabled patient in home – Crime Online

A 65-year-old Long Island man has been arrested and charged with posing as a social worker in order to gain entry to a Suffolk County home where he abused a physically disabled patient.

According to Newsday, Alfred Balcerak posed as an employee of the Suffolk Department of Social Services on September 6. He is accused of sexually abusing the patient and stealing her items.

Balcerak was arrested at his Deer Park home Friday night and charged with several counts, including touching, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person, identity fraud and theft.

He was scheduled to appear in court sometime on Saturday.
