68-year-old Colonie man arrested for soliciting sexual acts with children

New York State Police arrested 68-year-old Christopher Johnson of Colonie on Wednesday for promoting a sexual performance by a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to police, on September 3, around 5:00 p.m., an officer received information that an adult male was having inappropriate communication with a child.

After investigations, it was determined that Johnson solicited a child under the age of 17 known to him to perform sexual acts on September 2, police said.

State police arrested Johnson and his charges were brought before the Brunswick State Police. He was arraigned in Brunswick Municipal Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $10,000 bail, or $20,000 partially secured bail.
