ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – When a fatal shooting occurred at Apalachee High School on Sept. 4, calls of concern, frustration and confusion rang through Barrow County's 911 dispatch center.

“We currently have an active situation at Apalachee High School,” a 911 dispatcher said in a call. “We have a lot of calls and we have units on the scene.”

Four people were killed in the shooting. Mathematics teachers Cristina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall and 14-year-old students Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn died in the shooting. Nine other people were hospitalized.

Colt Gray, a 14-year-old student at Apalachee High, has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting. He is being tried as an adult and is charged with four counts of murder.

Colt's father, Colt Gray, was also charged after police said he likely gave Colt the gun used in the shooting.
