Woman and boy stabbed in attack at Oceanside campsite

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – A woman and a juvenile man were injured in a stabbing attack at an Oceanside campground today, authorities said.

According to Oceanside police, officers were dispatched to a stabbing incident at 2:15 a.m. Saturday at 1450 N. Pacific Street in the Pacific Harbor Campground.

“When units arrived on scene, they found a woman lying on the ground with her head bleeding,” the department said in a statement.

“It was later determined that there were two victims in this incident.”

The male youth suffered a minor stab wound to the back and several abrasions, the statement said.

Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Witnesses provided a video that led to the arrest of two suspects, police said. Jose Luis Talavera Galopino, 30, and Jocelyn Ignacio, 21, were taken to jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

The circumstances leading to the alleged stabbing were unclear and the identities of the victims were not immediately available.

The relationship between the suspects and the victims, if any, was also unclear.
