Tivoli footballer Delano Daley and his sister are among the three dead in a car accident

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Delano Daley, a new signing for the Tivoli Gardens Football Club, is one of three people killed in a car crash early Saturday morning.

The incident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Eastwood Park Road and Burlington Avenue near Half-Way Tree Primary School.

The football club confirmed Daley's death in an emotional post on its Instagram page and sent its condolences to the player's family.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic loss of our newest signing, former Waterhouse Football Club member, talented young player Delano Daley, who was taken from us far too soon in a car accident this morning.

“Our Tivoli Gardens family is heartbroken and mourns the loss of this bright and promising star. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, friends and teammates during this difficult time. May Delano's memory live on in our hearts and may he rest in peace,” said Tivoli Gardens FC.

The club also confirmed that the footballer's sister and cousin also died in the tragic accident.

“Our thoughts are with the whole family,” said the caption on Instagram.
