A Four Seasons tribute singer has been ordered to pay £1,000 compensation to a reveller following an unprovoked attack at a pub.

Ricky Lee Lewis, 34, performed in front of hundreds of spectators imitating Four Seasons lead singer Frankie Valli – famous for the 1975 hit 'December 1963' (Oh, What a Night) – but he hit the wrong note when he attacked Perry Plowman in Swansea.

The singer is also a Tribute act by the Jersey Boys – also featuring songs by Grease star Danny Zuko and High School Musical hero Troy Bolton.

A court heard that Lewis – who performs on cruise ships around the world – showered Mr Plowman with punches and left him with a bloody face at the Cross Keys in Swansea city centre.

Lewis, a “powerful falsetto singer,” submitted to a voluntary police interview but refused to answer questions or take part in a line-up. However, he later admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

In a victim impact statement, Mr Plowman said he was left with a scar on his face which was a “constant reminder of the attack in July”.

He said the unprovoked attack had affected him physically and psychologically and he had changed his route to work to avoid the area with the pub.

Defence lawyer Hywel Davies said Lewis was under the influence of alcohol and the attack was a “moment of pure stupidity”.

Lewis' management, Guvnor Management, describes him as “an upbeat and energetic artist with fantastic audience participation.”

It boasts that his previous starring roles include “musicals such as 'Grease' (Danny Zuko), High School Musical 1&2 (Troy Bolton), FAME the Musical (Tyrone Jackson) and Bye Bye Baby Live – The Feel Good Jersey Boys Musical (Bob Gaudio).”

It continues: “Ricky has toured British theatres and performed at festivals, cruises, holiday parks, major hotel chains, weddings and corporate events all over the world.”
