Storm in Austria: “The craziest show in the world” with Andreas Gabalier has to be postponed due to heavy rain.

“The Fastest Show in the World” with music star Andreas Gabalier, 39, and ex-ski jumper Thomas Morgenstern, 37, was actually supposed to be broadcast on Joyn and Puls 4 on September 28th at 8:15 p.m. But that won't happen. As the production company Unscripted Productions announced on Saturday, the TV show cannot be carried out as planned for “safety reasons”. The reason: the current storm situation with heavy rainfall in Velden, Austria.

“The rain is making the ground soft,” explains managing director Lukas Steiner-Bauer, which is why the cranes needed for the live show cannot be anchored securely enough or could cause damage to the ground. Each crane weighs 130 tons. “We cannot take any risks and are therefore forced to postpone the show to a later date,” continues Steiner-Bauer. This date is currently being sought. Construction should have started in the middle of next week, but is now simply not possible to plan. As with all of the company's productions, the safety of the crew and the protagonists is the top priority. That is why the company follows the opinion of the experts without hesitation.

German celebrities had not yet been announced

As was announced just a few days ago, “The craziest show in the world” moved from the public broadcaster ORF 1 to the ProSiebenSat.1 broadcasting group, which also included the Austrian private broadcaster Puls 4. In addition, the show was to be broadcast on the in-house streaming portal Joyn.

The game principle: Gabalier and Morgenstern were to compete against German celebrities whose names have not yet been announced. The duel was to take place on a platform that hovers up to 60 meters above Lake Wörthersee. “The whole thing will be a borderline test. After all, the stage, held up by two mighty cranes, will be anything but stable,” the production company previously announced. In addition, the individual games, which have so far been kept secret, would push Morgenstern, Gabalier and their opponents “to the brink of skill, madness and the floating platform.”
