Cranes cannot be set up: storm! “Craziest Show in the World” with Andreas Gabalier postponed

Storm in Austria: The live TV show “The craziest show in the world” with Andreas Gabalier is being postponed due to heavy rainfall at Lake Wörthersee. The production company announced this at the weekend.

It was planned that “The Longest Show in the World” with music star Andreas Gabalier (39) and ex-ski jumper Thomas Morgenstern (37) would be broadcast on Joyn and Puls 4 on September 28th at 8:15 p.m. However, this plan has been cancelled. The production company Unscripted Productions announced on Saturday that the TV show could not be carried out as planned due to “safety reasons”. The trigger: the current storm situation with heavy rainfall in Velden in Austria.

“The rain is making the ground soft,” explains managing director Lukas Steiner-Bauer. As a result, the cranes required for the live show could not be anchored firmly enough or they could damage the ground. Each crane would weigh 130 tonnes. “We cannot take any risks and are therefore forced to postpone the show to a later date,” continues Steiner-Bauer. A new date is currently being sought. The setup, which was supposed to begin next week, is now unplanned. In general, the safety of the crew and participants in all of the company's productions is the top priority. The expert opinion would therefore be followed without hesitation.

German celebrities announced, names still unknown

Only a few days ago it was announced that “The craziest show in the world” had moved from the public broadcaster ORF 1 to the ProSiebenSat.1 broadcasting group, which also includes the private Austrian broadcaster Puls 4. The show was also supposed to be shown on the in-house streaming portal Joyn.

The game concept: Gabalier and Morgenstern were to compete against German celebrities whose names have not yet been made public. The duel was planned on a platform that would float up to 60 meters above Lake Wörthersee. “The whole thing will be a borderline test. After all, the stage, held up by two mighty cranes, will be anything but stable,” the production company had previously announced. In addition, the individual games, which have so far been kept secret, were to push Morgenstern, Gabalier and their opponents to the “brink of skill, madness and the floating platform.”
