Aiken County investigates stabbing death of Trenton man | Aiken area public safety and court news

The Aiken County Coroner's Office is investigating the stabbing death of a Trenton man.

According to a press release, the coroner's office was called to Edgefield Highway near Johnston Highway around 6 p.m. on September 13 after the body of a white male was found on Edgefield Highway.

According to Coroner Darryl Ables, the victim was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute with a family member at their residence in the 2700 block of Edgefield Highway when he was stabbed.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy will be performed on his body in Newberry next week.

The victim's name will be released after next of kin have been notified, Ables said.

The Aiken County Coroner's Office and Sheriff's Office are continuing the investigation.
