A woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in Pilsen, Chicago, on Friday evening outside a migrant shelter near the corner of 23rd Street and Halsted, police said.

CHICAGO (WLS) — A woman is recovering after being stabbed outside a migrant shelter in Pilsen on Friday night, Chicago police said.

The stabbing occurred around 7:15 p.m. at the homeless shelter near the corner of 23rd and Halsted

According to police, a man and a woman were arguing with the victim when the man pulled out a sharp object and stabbed her.

The 35-year-old victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

It is not yet known whether those involved were staying in the accommodation.

No one is in custody and detectives from Area Three are investigating.

The police did not initially provide any further information.
