Known through Netflix hype & “Pirates of the Caribbean”: New addition to “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”

The “The Walking Dead” family is growing. A total of five new cast members have been confirmed for the new “Daryl Dixon” episodes.

While “The Walking Dead” fans are eagerly awaiting the start of “Daryl Dixon” season 2, filming for the third season is already underway. In the sequel, Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) find themselves in the unknown realm of post-apocalyptic Spain. Continuing to search for a way back to their native Commonwealth, the legendary duo is dependent on benevolent acquaintances. Among the new faces are actors they probably already know from Netflix.

Although Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier will soon be able to embrace each other again on MagentaTV, they apparently won't be able to find a way back to the USA within the next six episodes of “The Walking Dead” spin-off. As franchise boss Scott M. Gimple revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con, they discovered another country on the European continent (via ComicBook.com):

“We can’t wait to continue the travels of this iconic duo with a third season set in Spain.” […] will play.”

It is not yet known whether she was joined on her journey of discovery by her French allies Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and Isabelle Carriere (Clémence Poésy). However, according to ComicBook.com, there are now five new actors on the cast list for “Daryl Dixon” Season 3, including:

• Oscar Jaenada
• Alexandra Masangkay
• Hugo Arbues
• Eduardo Noriega
• Candela Saitta

From thriller to rom-com: Netflix stars join “Daryl Dixon” series

While Eduardo Noriega and Candela Saitta have so far mainly appeared in Spanish productions, Óscar Jaenada has made a name for himself through “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”. He also proved his skills in front of the camera in “The Shallows” alongside Blake Lively and alongside Sylvester Stallone in “Rambo: Last Blood”.

The names Alexandra Masangkay and Hugo Arbués will probably be familiar to Netflix audiences. Masangkay shone as Miharu in the surprise hit “The Pit” and in five episodes of the biting dramedy series “Valeria”. Fellow actor Arbués played Apolo Hidalgo in the three-part “Trough My Window” series. At 19, he is the youngest of the newcomers.

By the way: You can also stream titles with Jaenada and Noriega on Netflix – however, “Xtreme” and “Hiding is Vain” are nowhere near as popular in this country as the works with Masangkay and Arbués. Do you think you know everything about Netflix? Prove it to us in the quiz:
