Anil Mehta was not Malaika Arora's real father: Autopsy reveals cause of death

The industry is still trying to come to terms with the sudden and tragic loss of Malaika Arora’s father. Anil Mehta committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of his 6^th Apartment on the first floor of a building. The news of his suicide devastated Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and her mother. Malla's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was one of the first to reach the building.

Arjun Kapoor, who was once in a relationship with Arora, was also seen by her side all the time. Malaika took to social media to share the news of her father's death. In the message, she referred to him as 'Anil Kuldip Mehta'. Reportedly, Malaika was just 11 and her sister Amrita was 6 when their mother – Joyce Polycarp – got divorced.

Malaika's stepfather

According to reports, Malaika's biological father was someone else whom her mother divorced. Joyce married for the second time to Anil Kuldip Mehta, who then became Malaika's – Amrita's – stepfather. However, looking at the pictures and videos shared by the family over the years, it is quite obvious that the fact that he was not her biological father never came in the way of their relationship.

What does the autopsy report say?

The post-mortem report of the deceased revealed that he had died of multiple injuries. Mehta had reportedly called both Malaika and Amrita before taking the big step. He told the two that he was “sick and tired”. Joyce reportedly came into the living room where she kept his slippers. When she went to the balcony to look for him, she could not find him but heard some kind of commotion. When she leaned over the railing to see what had happened, she saw Anil Mehta lying motionless.
