54-year-old Philadelphia man in stable condition after multiple stabbing attacks on 46th Street

PHILADELPHIA – Southwest detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the South 46th Street apartment block, police said.

A 54-year-old man was found with seven stab wounds to his back and side. He was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized.

As of Thursday, no weapon had been seized and no arrests had been made. In addition, no specific crime scene could be identified.

The investigation is ongoing and remains in the hands of Southwest Detectives.

  • DUI driver faces 18 charges after fatal crash in 2021

    FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – A man has been arrested and faces 18 charges in connection with a fatal car crash nearly three years ago, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department (FLPD) said.

    Derrick Eaglin, 63, was arrested Thursday on a traffic fatality charge following a lengthy investigation. The crash, which occurred on Sept. 25, 2021, near the intersection of Southwest 9th Avenue and Davie Boulevard, involved two vehicles. According to police, both vehicles collided after entering the intersection from different directions.

    All occupants of the vehicles were taken to Broward Health Medical Center. A passenger, identified as Carolyn Campbell, 55, died nearly a year later, in August 2022, from injuries sustained in the crash.

    Eaglin faces multiple charges, including two counts of DUI manslaughter, one count of vehicular manslaughter, and multiple counts of reckless driving and negligent misdemeanor. The charges follow the conclusion of the FLPD's vehicular manslaughter investigation.

    Police urge anyone who encounters drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol to report them immediately if it is safe to do so.

  • Fatal motorcycle accident at the corner of Adams Avenue and Howland Street in Philadelphia

    PHILADELPHIA — A fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car occurred at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Howland Street at 7:46 p.m., according to police.

    A motorcycle traveling westbound on Adams Avenue collided with a silver Ford Crown Victoria that was turning north from the eastbound lane on Adams Avenue onto Howland Street.

    The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man, was transported by Medic 29 to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m.

    The accident scene remains secured while the Crash Investigation Division (CID) continues its investigation. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the accident.
