Rare death of a UN employee during Israeli operation in the West Bank

“FULL POWER”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced on September 4 that the military would use its “full strength” to attack Palestinian militants in the West Bank.

He said he had ordered the military to carry out air strikes “wherever necessary” to “avoid endangering soldiers.”

A few days later, the European Union’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, said Israel’s aim was to “turn the West Bank into a new Gaza”.

Israeli forces also conducted operations around the city of Tulkarem in the northern West Bank this week.

A military statement on Friday reported four deaths “in the Tulkarem and Nur Shams areas.”

It said that “three of the terrorists were eliminated in an air strike on Wednesday,” while the fourth was killed “in close combat.”
