1 dead and 2 injured after car-motorcycle accident in St. Clair County

St. Clair County, Michigan. – One person died and two others were injured in an accident between a car and a motorcycle in China Township on Thursday evening.

The accident occurred on September 12 shortly before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Marine City Highway and Marsh Road.

When St. Clair County Sheriff's Office officers arrived at the scene, they found two people from the motorcycle involved in the crash, a 60-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman from China Township, with serious injuries. Both were transported to McLaren Macomb, where the 60-year-old man later died.

The driver of the car involved in the accident, a 19-year-old from Cottrellville Township, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to McLaren Macomb.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver of the car attempted to turn left from Marsh Road onto Marine City Highway and was struck by the motorcycle.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to play a role, the sheriff's office said.
