Minor girl sexually abused in Motihari, 3 arrested

Motihari (Bihar): A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by six people, including three minors, in Bijdhari district of Motihari, Bihar, police said on Friday.

The three minors were arrested, it was said.

The alleged incident occurred on the evening of September 4 when the girl was returning from an event in a village in Chakia sub-district.

She was kidnapped by the accused, dragged to a field and sexually abused, according to the complaint filed by family members at the local police station, an official said.

“The accused also threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke to anyone about the incident. They are also said to have filmed the incident on their mobile phones and posted the video on social media on Thursday,” he said.

“Based on the statement of the girl, the police have arrested three accused, who are minors, and remanded them in judicial custody after their medical examination as per law,” DSP (Chakia) Satyaendra Kumar Singh told reporters.

A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the other accused, he added.
