“Dead chameleon” found at lunch in Jharkhand, 65 students sick

Dumka: At least 65 students of a government school fell ill after consuming their midday meal in Jharkhand's Dumka district on Friday, an official said.

A dead chameleon was allegedly found in the meal, he said.

The incident occurred at a middle school in the Tongra area.

The students, who started vomiting after consuming the meal, were referred to Masalia Municipal Health Centre and their condition is stable, said Block Development Officer (BDO) Azfar Husnain.

“They claimed to have found a dead chameleon in their lunch,” he said.

Gurucharan Manjhi, in-charge of Tongra police station, said the case was under investigation.
