UNLV Rebels (2-0) vs. Kansas Jayhawks (1-1)

  • When: Friday, September 13
  • Time: 7pm ET
  • Where: Children's Mercy Park (Lawrence, Kansas)
  • Channel: ESPN

Friday night will have a unique atmosphere, as the Jayhawks will not occupy the entire stadium in Lawrence. Due to ongoing renovations at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, KU will play a hybrid schedule with home games at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, as well as some games at Arrowhead Stadium on the Missouri side of KC. This matchup with the Rebels will take place in Kansas, at the home of Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer.

Unfortunately, the J-Birds aren't off to the best start they had last season. After beating Lindenwood in the season opener, the offense struggled on the road against Illinois last Saturday, resulting in a 23-17 loss. With their Big 12 schedule beginning next week, Kansas will need to find a way to score points to avoid slipping in the conference polls.

UNLV started the new season with a bang, crushing Houston 27-7 on the road in Week 1. The Rebels followed up with a convincing 72-14 win over the weaker Utah Tech last Saturday, giving the team some confidence for another Big 12 duel.

Kansas is 2-1 against UNLV after the Jayhawks defeated the Rebels in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl last December.

MY CHOICE: Kansas wins 34-27
