Chargers at Panthers: How to watch, start time and forecast

This was the city where Jim Harbaugh's playing career officially ended. Although he thought he could extend his playing career for at least two more years, in 2001 he had not played in a single game for the Carolina Panthers in 15 years as a quarterback. Harbaugh knew it was time to trade his helmet for a headset.

“This is the football gods telling me we're not going to play anymore,” Harbaugh said this week with a broad grin.

After returning to Charlotte, North Carolina, to join the Chargers, Harbaugh has built an even better second career. Last week, he made a splendid return to the NFL as the Panthers, led by new head coach Dave Canales, flopped against the New Orleans Saints. Canales, who was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator last year, lost 47-10 in his debut as a head coach.

With their opponents struggling, the Chargers have a chance to make their first 2-0 start since 2012.
