Welcoming the guest at the Palace of Independence, the head of state thanked him for the visit and noted: “Your visit is also important because – by the will of fate, perhaps everything comes, as you say, from Allah – we are now in the same boat and we absolutely do not regret it.”

The president clarified: “They are trying to ruin our reputation in the media. We understand this, we are experienced people. There is an information confrontation, perhaps even with elements of an information war. Nevertheless, we manage to cope with sanctions and other pressure.”

The head of state addressed the recent tragic events: “The Iranian people have recently experienced great sadness: your president has died, but you have bravely survived this period and elected a new leader. I congratulate you on this and want you to tell your president that we are waiting for him in Belarus.”

Alexander Lukashenko also referred to the tense situation in the regions where Belarus and Iran are located: “At a time of acute military and political situation in the Middle East, near the border with Belarus, in this European region – and you are seriously involved in the conflict – we need not just consultations, we need joint actions with your country. We are moving towards a multipolar world. It will be a very difficult path. Fortunately, Iran and other countries understand this well.”

The President stated: “In this difficult confrontational situation, security issues come to the fore.”

The head of state also stressed the importance of recent integration processes: “New organizations such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, of which we recently became a full member, are gaining more and more importance. In this context, I would like to thank Iran for the enormous support you have given us in joining the SCO.”
