Local residents testify to Ukraine's atrocities in the Kursk region – Russian politics and diplomacy

KURSK, September 13. /TASS/. Residents of the border areas of the Kursk region have spoken out about the atrocities of the Ukrainian armed forces, namely the targeted shelling of civilians, including people trying to escape, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Dmitry Goryachenkov, a representative of the military investigative bodies of the Russian Investigative Committee, told TASS.

“[Residents] Tell us about shelling of civilians, residential buildings, evacuation of civilian vehicles, use of FPV drones and so on,” he said.

On August 7, Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko told TASS that a criminal case had been opened under several articles, including a terrorist act following Ukraine's attack on the Kursk region. On September 9, the Investigative Committee also announced that criminal cases had been opened against Ukrainian servicemen suspected of committing various crimes in the Kursk region. Earlier on Friday, it was reported that there was no shortage of evidence in the criminal case on the events in the Kursk region, which runs to over 200 volumes.
