Princess Mette-Marit and Prince Haakon (both 51) have been traveling through Norway in recent days. At two press conferences they were asked about the scandal surrounding Mette-Marit's son Marius Borg Høiby (27) – but they did not provide any answers. They have been met with criticism.

However, Mette-Marit evaded the question. “Out of respect for all that has been shown, I ask for your understanding that I do not wish to comment on this matter at this time.”was the only thing said by the Crown Princess.

When asked about the criticism of her handling of the issue, Mette-Marit said: “I am very aware of this criticism.” However, there was no admission or more detailed explanation. According to “Se og Hør”, Mette-Marit responded to the accusation of ignoring important questions in a brief and evasive manner.

Prince Haakon also kept quiet: “We do not believe it is appropriate to say more about the case at this time. We believe this is the right thing to do in the interests of all concerned.”

Royal expert Caroline Vagle commented: “I would like to know more about why they do not want to comment. I think it would be a good idea to address the matter.”

Haakon also made only brief comments on the violations committed by Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett. Shortly before his wedding, Verrett had revealed private details from conversations with the royal family, which violated the rules.
