Shooting in Cypress area captured by dashcam at the intersection of Tuckerton and Huffmeister near Cy-Falls HS

CYPRESS, Texas — A driver's dashcam recorded a horrific shooting near a Texas high school on Monday night.

It happened in the northwest Houston suburb of Cypress at the intersection of Tuckerton and Huffmeister Roads around 8 p.m.

The video, provided to ABC affiliate KTRK in Houston, shows two men firing from a moving car. The driver fired from the open window. The passenger fired over the roof with what appeared to be a modified weapon that was fully automatic.

Up to eight bullets ricocheted off the ground and appeared to come from an area off-screen. One of the shooters eventually jumped into another moving car to escape.

Amid the hail of bullets were drivers who appeared to have nothing to do with the shooters. One called 911 to report the shooting and gave the location, which was right in front of Cypress Falls High School, where teachers, students and parents had just gathered for an open house.

Drivers waiting at the red light in Tuckerton were horrified by what was unfolding, with one of them telling ABC13 she was just focused on getting out of the situation.

There were no reports of injuries in the altercation. The incident is currently under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
