Report: Rent prices in Winnipeg are rising

If you're looking for a studio apartment in Winnipeg, you're likely to pay more than you did a year ago.

According to the latest report on Zumper.com, the average rent for a studio apartment in Winnipeg is $1,480 – an increase of 22.30% from 2023. According to the report, this is the largest increase in Canada and for the third month in a row.

The rent for a two-bedroom apartment is now $1,740 – an increase of 8.70 percent over the previous year.

While rents in Winnipeg continue to rise, both rates are still below the national average. The median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Canada is $1,900 (an increase of 1.6 percent from 2023) and for a two-bedroom apartment, $2,339 (an increase of 0.1 percent).

Zumper.com attributes the stable national average to the increasing supply of housing, falling mortgage rates and slowing population growth.
