Malaika Arora reached the crematorium along with her son Arhaan Khan.

Several celebrities, including Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and her husband Saif Ali Khan, among others, came to the crematorium to pay their last respects to Malaika Arora's father.

Malaika Arora's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan also arrived at the crematorium with his wife Sshura Khan.

Malaika's close friend and filmmaker Farah Khan Kunder also attended the gathering as she arrived to pay her last respects to Anil Mehta. Her brother Sajid Khan accompanied her.

According to police, Anil Mehta had called his two daughters before switching off his phone. In their statements, Malaika and Amrita said their father told them, “I'm fed up.”

The family tried to reach him after the call, but Anil had already switched off his phone.

Police also said that Anil Mehta jumped from a balcony of a building, resulting in fractures in his right leg. The post-mortem report confirmed that his death was due to “multiple injuries”.

The police also plan to record the statements of Mehta's doctor and other family members close to him.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Raj Tilak Roshan had told the media on Wednesday that the body of the deceased had been sent for post-mortem, adding that the investigation was being carried out by police and forensic teams.

“The body of one Anil Mehta (62) has been found. He lived on the 6th floor. We are conducting further investigation and our team is here. We are examining all aspects in detail. Our teams are here; the forensic teams are also here. The body is being sent for postmortem. We are examining everything in detail. Prima facie, it seems to be suicide; we are conducting further investigation,” Roshan said.

Malaika Arora, who was not at her father's house at the time of the incident, was reportedly in Pune at the time. (ANI)
