As I Lay Dying: 'We Are The Dead' single released

On “We Are The Dead”, AS I LAY DYING received vocal support from Alex Terrible (Slaughter To Prevail) and Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin). Guitarist Phil Sgrosso reveals about the track and the video:

“'We Are The Dead' represents the harder side of the new album and clearly puts our thrashier tendencies at the forefront, which we always like to mix into our more melodic sound. Probably 'Through Storms Ahead' is the most aggressive album of our career so far, and we couldn't think of a better fit than two of the best deathcore musicians, Alex Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail and Tom Barber from Chelsea Grin. A big shout out also goes to our video director Tom Flynn, who we have worked with for the third time in this campaign and who has once again done a visually impressive job of realizing one of our tracks.

On November 15th, the band will release their full-length album “Through Storms Ahead” on Napalm Records. You can pre-order the album here. In addition to singer Tim Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso, the line-up also includes new members Ryan Neff (bass, clean vocals), Nick Pierce (drums) and Ken Susi (guitar). Sgrosso produced the album with Hiram Hernandez. Aaron Chaparian mixed it and Ted Jensen mastered it. Corey Meyers designed the cover artwork.

AS I LAY DYING frontman Tim Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison in 2014 after he hired a supposed hitman to kill his wife. This war was actually an undercover police officer. The band disbanded as a result. After Lambesis' surprise dismissal and a publicly remorseful apology for his crimes, the formation reunited in 2018.
