Bangladeshi student killed and another injured in accident

SRIKAKULAM: A tragic road accident on the national highway in Mandasa Mandal, Srikakulam district, claimed the life of a Bangladeshi student and another was seriously injured. The incident occurred when the rider, Mohammad Mushtaq Tony (23), lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the crash barrier in Korraigate area. Tanveer Rehman (23), who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a government hospital where his condition is reportedly stable.
Mushtaq and three other Bangladeshi students, Mohammad Haseeb Alam and Asif Mohammad Saro, are studying BTech at the KITE University in Bhubaneswar, and Tanveer Rehman, who was visiting India on a tourist visa, travelled from Bhubaneswar to Chennai on two motorcycles. Mushtaq and Tanveer were travelling on one motorcycle while the other two students were travelling on another.
According to Sub-Inspector Khader Bhasha of Mandasa police station, Mushtaq lost control of his motorcycle and hit an iron post on the divider. He suffered a severe stomach injury and was initially taken to Haripuram CHC before being shifted to Tekkali Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have informed the university administration about the incident and registered a case.
