18-year-old driver of Chain Caul Way accident dies in hospital

“We are investigating how the collision occurred and continue to ask any witnesses to contact us.”

A 17-year-old boy who was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle remains in stable condition in hospital.

The Audi A3 Sport was involved in the accident near the docks on Tuesday evening, September 10, while travelling in Chain Caul Way towards Lea.

The accident occurred on the stretch of road between Leeward Road and Nile Close.

Police are still asking for witness statements and information on whether anyone has dashcam or surveillance camera footage from the time of the accident.
