Quiboloy threatens victims with “angels of death” to silence them

Imprisoned leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, allegedly “threatens” his victims, warning them that they will be hunted by the “angels of death” if they reveal the “sexual experiences” they had with him.

At a press conference at Camp Crame on Thursday, September 12, 2024, PNP Information Office Chief Colonel Jean Fajardo said several other alleged victims of sexual abuse by Quiboloy had told police about their “horrific” experiences.

“Imagine a minor who is already being harassed at the age of 12 and 13 by a person who was allegedly sexually harassed by Apollo Quiboloy, and they are threatened with breaking the code of secrecy. “I don't know how you can go hunting with Apollo Quiboloy, but I'm hunting the angels of death,” Fajardo said.

(Imagine a minor who is sexually molested by someone who claims that he was molested by Apollo Quiboloy when he was 12 or 13 years old. He is threatened that he will be hunted by the angels of death if he breaks the confidentiality agreement and tells anyone what he experienced at the hands of Apollo Quiboloy.)

“That's because they are threatened by the angels of death.” “Yun ang panakot sa kanila. If they violate the code of secrecy, they cannot give the angels of death a chance,” she added.

(The children are afraid because they are threatened that the angels of death will come after them. That is the threat – that if they break the code of secrecy, the angels of death will come after not only them but their loved ones as well.)

Fajardo said they are investigating whether these “angels of death” are a group of people or just figurative expressions.

She said the victims said they were sexually abused by Quiboloy “systematically,” and some of them were abused “regularly.”

“Alarming in the sense: na hindi isa, hindi dalawa, maraming nagsasabi at kung paano sila ginamit, pa'no ang indoctrination sa kanila, pa'no gamitin, kung paano sila kinakausap nong inner circle, kung paano sila prepare bago sila gamitin di umano supposedly ni Pastor Quiboloy kung paano sila ipapasok sa kwarto,” Fajardo said.

(Alarming in the sense that not just one or two, but many are talking about how they were used, how they were indoctrinated, how the inner circle talked to them, how they were prepared before they were allegedly used by Pastor Quiboloy, and how they were brought into the room.)

“The sinners, these are all accusations, too, and the sins were put to the test by Pastor Quiboloy because they are still pure, intact animals because they are blessed by the people,” she added.

(It is alleged – and these are all just allegations – that after Pastor Quiboloy abused the children, they were told that they were still pure and their femininity was intact because it was the spirit of God who had sexual intercourse with them.)

She said the victims were told that if they offered themselves, including their bodies, to Quiboloy they would go to heaven.

Fajardo said the victims kept quiet because Quiboloy's influence made them afraid to ask the police or other law enforcement agencies for help.

Fajardo urged victims of Quiboloy abuses to come forward and assured them that the PNP and the entire Philippine government are ready to ensure their safety and protection.

She said the liability of the parents, who some victims said “offered” them to Quiboloy, was also being investigated.

Fajardo said the victims are currently in a safe location and are being cared for by the relevant government authorities.

In his defense, Quiboloy's legal counsel Mark Tolentino denied the allegations, saying they were all “planted and fabricated.”

“Let them prove the case because the accused is presumed innocent. An accusation does not mean guilt,” he said.

Quiboloy was arrested on charges of aggravated human trafficking, child abuse and sexual abuse.

He and his four co-defendants are currently being held at the PNP detention facility in Camp Crame. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
