Mester on Mockridge: “I have nothing to do with discriminatory statements”

Now Mathias Mester (37) speaks! For days, Luke Mockridge (35) has been causing shock among many Germans. In a podcast, the comedian spoke so disparagingly about the Paralympic Games and the athletes competing there that he is facing massive criticism.

Mathias Mester denies having worked out “jokes” with Luke Mockridge

Mockridge apologized – and in his apology also said that he had worked out his program with Mathias Mester, which included jokes about Paralympic athletes.

The former “Let's Dance” candidate himself took part in the shot put at the 2008 Beijing Games and is a multiple Para World Champion in javelin throwing. At first he did not comment on the Mockridge scandal (even when asked by EXPRESS.de).

On September 9, he took a stand on Instagram – and spoke out against the comedian’s portrayal.

Paralympics star Mester: “I didn’t work with Mockridge”

Mester says very clearly: “I did not work with Luke Mockridge on his program. I have nothing to do with the discriminatory statements regarding the Paralympics. I find them tasteless and over the top.”

He continues: “Luke asked me about jokes about dwarfs last year and asked me what I thought of them. He sent me the jokes, I thought they were funny and I told him so. The statements in the podcast are something completely different and have nothing to do with humor in my eyes.
