Roncalli delights with action, gags and lascivious erotic show

Juggling with table tennis balls in the mouth, dramatic erotic staging of aerial acrobatics by the Turkeev duo and lots of clapping along to the Blue Danube Waltz. And of course Lili Paul with a contortion that is as magical as it is lascivious. Great show effects in the new show “ARTistART” by Circus Roncalli, which delighted VIPs such as Lilian Klebow, Christian Ludwig Attersee, Kaleen and oe24 CEO Niki Fellner at the Vienna premiere on Wednesday at Rathausplatz and will amaze over 70,000 visitors with 49 more performances until October 6th.

The journey through the art world, inspired by Keith Haring, Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, begins as usual with the famous blue and white Roncalli balloon. The clowns Matute and Canutio emerge from it and, alongside the strong Gensi, lead the audience through a wonderful fairytale world full of impressive acrobatics, magic, dance and gags. Daring aerial hoop action, spectacular balancing and a breathtaking perch balancing act by the duo Cardio at lofty heights are included. Many people caught their breath.

The same goes for the world premiere of Lili Paul’s new contortion, where she performs lascivious contortions on a Salvador Dalí watch to the Pink Floyd classic “Time” and explores the limits of her own body.

Of course, there is also plenty of fun: Gensi fails in his many interludes, including those held in the middle of the audience, with a “Concerto Classico”. This is also because Canutio prefers rock 'n' roll. And Matute encourages the audience to box, turn down the lights and clap along. From “We Will Rock You” to the “Blue Danube Waltz”.

After two hours of laughter and amazement, the three clowns drive off again in the Roncalli circus wagon. Ovations. Especially for mastermind Bernhard Paul, who fought back tears at the premiere. “Even though Roncalli sets up camp from New York to Munich, Vienna will always remain my home, my true home.”
