Among those not entered for the £750,000 race was the Ballydoyle boss's Irish Derby winner, Los Angeles.

While Charlie Johnston also canceled Align The Stars.

This means that seven players will compete, with O'Brien aiming for a second consecutive win after winning last year with Continuous.

St Leger 1-2-3 Prediction

O'Brien seems to have all the firepower here – but I think it could pay off to bet on a runner who hasn't been in the spotlight yet on this trip.

Illinois and Grosvenor Square are proven stayers, but it is Jan Brueghel who is venturing to 1 mile and 6 furlongs for the first time.

I have some doubts about his mental capacity – he is obviously a very, very talented stayer, but the fact that he beats Bellum Justum by a neck doesn't really excite me.

And he always seems to do just enough, which to me gives the impression that he doesn't fully know what he's supposed to do, which is win races.

Although they have not been proven over this distance, I have no such doubts about You Got To Me (who really should have won the Yorkshire Oaks) and Sunway.

Sunway has had by far the strongest races of this field and was hot on their heels all the way to the finish line, finishing second to Los Angeles in the Irish Derby.

Los Angeles skips this race to run in the Irish Champion Stakes before likely taking his place in the Arc, so the 'boys' think highly of him.

And don't be discouraged by his fourth place in the King George – also a race far stronger than his rivals' – after he almost fell on the bend.

Jockey Crouch took the wrong route when finishing second in the Yorkshire Oaks to Content, who won under a fantastic ride from Ryan Moore.

Both got 9 pounds from Emily Upjohn, who just doesn't look like the same horse this year.

But “You Got To Me” went well and I can see her battling with Illinois for second place.
