Angry Emiliano Martínez loses his nerve after Argentina's qualifying defeat and attacks the camera

After the 1:2 defeat in Colombia on Wednesday night, the players of world champions Argentina went to the centre circle to congratulate their victorious opponents. A cameraman got a little too close to Argentina's goalkeeper Martínez for his liking. The 32-year-old Aston Villa goalkeeper quickly reached out and gave the camera a powerful blow.

“He hit me out of nowhere,” the cameraman later said at RCN Sports. “I was very angry. I was just doing my job, and so was he.”

Martínez is known for causing a stir, whether it's his time-wasting during penalty shootouts or his trophy celebrations afterward, so his behavior after the match against Colombia – which took place at the Metropolitano Stadium in Barranquilla – will come as little surprise to anyone. It's unclear whether Martínez will face any consequences for this outburst of anger.
