Joe Buck supports his wife Michelle Beisner-Buck in her recovery after a “freak accident”.

In a video shared on her Instagram account on Wednesday, September 11, Beisner-Buck, 47, had her 55-year-old husband explain where the two were headed while sitting in the car together.

“The day, July 7, the place, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico,” Buck, a sports commentator for ESPN, began the roughly three-minute clip.

He said he was preparing for a business trip, but since the children were taken care of, the couple decided to take a short vacation and play some golf.

“We did,” added a smiling Beisner-Buck as her husband pointed the camera at her sitting in the passenger seat.

Her plan was to finish her round of golf on the 10th hole and then have something to eat. But “Michelle [who] has been known to do headstands during our courtship and marriage,” happened to do a handstand “at the exact moment” that Buck made the takeoff.

The former cheerleader and current ESPN reporter also explained the situation in the caption of the social media clip.

“Ankle shattered down to the joint. Six weeks in a cast and the bones are healing well,” Beisner-Buck wrote. “But the worst part is that the impact of the ball (a hell of a hit, baby) also severely damaged my tibial nerve.”

She added that she hadn't had much success with “nerve blocks and lidocaine infusions,” so her next step was to “put the nerve under the knife to decompress it in the hopes that this will speed up my recovery.”

In the video, a seemingly remorseful Buck called it a “totally freaky accident” as they waited for her surgery to begin.

Beisner-Buck added that it would be nearly impossible for anyone to replicate that moment: “You could never do that in a competition. It was as if God or the universe had guided the ball directly into my ankle.”

She then showed her foot splint and explained that she had previously “worn a cast for six weeks.”

“Needless to say, my guilt is beyond measure. I still wake up in the middle of the night when I hear that noise and it makes me sick,” Buck said in the video. “I love that woman. I just want to protect that woman and I hurt her with a golf ball. That's pretty sick and I feel terrible.”

As Beisner-Buck spoke next to him, she reminded him that it was not his fault.

“I just can't wait to stand on my two HEALTHY feet again. I can't wait to run around with my kids. I can't wait to go back to work. I can't wait to drive. To dance. To do 🤸‍♀️. To… All of it. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!” concluded her caption on Instagram.
