3-year-old girl sexually abused, accused in custody

New Delhi [India]September 11 (ANI): A three-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted while she was sleeping on a cot outside her house in Delhi's Jain Nagar under Begumpur police station limits, police said on Wednesday.

According to officials, the victim's mother mentioned in her report that her daughter was sleeping on a cot outside her house on September 9. After some time, she noticed that her daughter was no longer on the cot. She searched for her daughter and found her in the bushes nearby.

The 25-year-old defendant was also present there and fled when he saw her.

She then lodged a complaint and the case was subsequently registered at Begumpur police station. The girl was also medically examined at BSA Hospital.

Later, the accused was arrested and further investigation is underway. (ANI)
