Lubbock police identify two people killed in Tuesday's shooting in Mackenzie Park

Police have identified the two people killed in Tuesday's shooting in Mackenzie Park.

According to LPD, officers responded to a report of shots fired at 8:18 a.m. in the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive in East Lubbock.

Upon arrival, officers found 55-year-old Angel Aleman and 47-year-old Lydia Hernandez. According to police, Aleman was found lying on the ground and pronounced dead at the scene.

Hernandez was found with serious injuries and was taken by EMS to UMC, where she later died. A dog belonging to Aleman was also found dead at the scene.

According to LPD, the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Unit and the LPD Forensics Unit were also on site to assist in the investigation and processing of the crime scene.

The police assume that this is an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
