Mangaluru: Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal celebrates girl who saves mother in road accident

Mangalore, September 11: In an impressive display of courage, a young girl named Vaibhavi saved her mother after she was hit by an autorickshaw while crossing the road in Kinnigoli. The quick-witted Vaibhavi immediately rushed to her mother's aid and brought her to safety.

In recognition of her brave act, city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal invited Vaibhavi and her father to his office on September 10 to pay their last respects. Vaibhavi, a seventh-grader, was honoured with a shawl and garland by the police commissioner, who praised her quick reaction and presence of mind. He described her bravery as an example to others and stressed the importance of instilling such awareness among children.

DCPs Siddarth Goyal and Dinesh Kumar BP, ACP (Traffic) Najma Farooqi and Police Inspectors Mohammed Shareef and Hulugappa attended the event. Vaibhavi's mother Chethana (35), a resident of Rajaratnapura, who sustained injuries in the accident, is currently undergoing treatment at Suratkal Hospital.
