Kuo: Apple Watch Ultra 3 and SE 3 to be released next year | News

The last event “It's Glowtime” was accompanied by a number of updated products, but some viewers had hoped for more from the Apple Watch: Up until the very end, there was uncertainty as to whether Cupertino would present a new series of the Apple Watch Ultra. However, the company decided to go a different route and presented the watch with a black titanium case and new straps. There is also no sign of a successor to the Apple Watch SE. That is likely to remain the case this year: Market expert Ming-Chi Kuo discusses the future of the two new smartwatches in an article on X.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 and SE 3 are still a long way off
About a year ago, Kuo announced that Apple would not launch a new generation of the Apple Watch Ultra this year. He may be right: The last event focused mainly on the iPhone 16, the Apple Watch Series 10 and the aforementioned black color option for the Ultra 2. It is also considered quite unlikely that Cupertino will come up with a new watch in the remaining months of this year. Anyone who wants an update to the high-end watch will have to be patient: Kuo says the current model will be replaced next year. Incidentally, this also applies to the Apple Watch SE: The third generation of the comparatively inexpensive watch will also be available in 2025.

Publication expected in autumn 2025
The leaker, however, does not say anything about the exact time or the functions that come with the two new watches. It is highly likely that the iPhone event in September once again served as an opportunity to present the new models to the world public for the first time. According to rumors, Apple wants to release the iPhone SE 4 in spring 2025. It is also conceivable that the company will use this opportunity to announce the Apple Watch SE 3 as well, in order to reserve the September event primarily for the iPhone 17, the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3.
