Alleged stabbing in the suburb of Ōtāhuhu in South Auckland

A man was seriously injured in a stabbing in the southern Auckland suburb of Ōtāhuhu this morning.

Police are investigating the incident after a man walked to a petrol station on Great South Road at about 1.20am with a suspected stab wound, they said.

“He was taken to Middlemore Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. At this early stage of the investigation, it is believed that the man was involved in an altercation in the local area shortly after 12:30am.

“The incident occurred near the intersection of Alexander St. and Tamaki Avenue.”

The incident followed a series of stabbings and shootings in Auckland in recent weeks.
